The uilleann pipes, an instrument which has recently been recognised as an important and unique cultural heritage symbol by UNESCO, are a great addition to the learning opportunities at the CCMA in 2019. The harp joined the uilleann pipes on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in December 2019. The CCMA already has successful harp classes in place and it is hoped that those who are learning the uilleann pipes, concertina and harp will develop skills so as to make music together in the near future.
