One of our most popular productions when performed in 2012 this year was of our best ever. Songs like ‘O what a Beautiful Mornin’, ‘The Farmer and the Cowman’ and ‘The Surrey with the Fringe on Top’ This love story between the cowboy and the beautiful farm girl gives plenty of fun and and adventure!
The Scoil Úna Naofa Orchestra, Scoil Úna Naofa 2nd class chori and St. Agnes’ Chamber Orchestra joined forces at the National Concert Hall 8th February 2019 to give a memorable performance from ‘Ghost in the Living Room’ to Beethoven 5th Symphony Finale, with the Chamber Orchestra winning a special award!
Join the Parents Orchestra to raise funds for ARC Crumlin
3rd of March 2019 is the date for ‘Spring Into Music’ featuring music from Tchaikovsky, Bernstein’s ‘West Side Story’ and the much loved ‘Radetzky March’ amongst other favourites all in aid of ARC, Addiction Response Crumlin. Concert 7.30 pm at Scoil Úna Naofa school hall, Armagh Road, Crumlin.
A fabulous production was captured on camera by Martin O’Brien. Well done to all the cast on a great production, and thanks to all those volunteers who helped make the production such a success.
The CCMA were awarded overall winner award in their cagegory Creative Place Intitiative. Award was presented at the National finals in Cork, November 2018

St Agnes’ was represented by an insturmental group and as part of the ‘Choir of Ages’ playing for the pope in front of an audience of 82,000.
RTÉ’s Nationwide film at CCMA
On June 13th the RTÉ ‘Nationwide’ team were at the CCMA filming activities of the centre, and talking to staff and students of the centre. Every class was represented on the day and it was a very enjoyable experience for everybody. Well done to all those who played so well in front of the cameras on the day, and who spoke so well about their experiences. The programme was broadcast subsequently and made a huge impression locally and nationally.
Summer Camp 2018
The musical year ended with SUMMER CAMP, a unique intergenerational camp for string players from primary school upwards without age limits! The annual concert in CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL, Dublin, is a highlight of the year, and took place on Thursday July 5th 2018 at 5 pm. The final trip in St Agnes' CCMA DISCOVER DUBLIN series on Friday 15th June was to Malahide Castle. The series will start again on Friday 21st September.
Sarabande Ensemble at Bealtaine Festival
The Sarabande Ensemble, all members of ST AGNES Parents String ORCHESTRA perform on Wednesday 23rd May in a Bealtaine Festival event for Lorcan O'Toole Day Centre, Lorcan O'Toole Park, Crumlin, Dublin 12.
Staff from CCMA attend Community Day
Staff from St. Agnes’ CCMA attended the Crumlin Walkinstown forum Dublin 12 Community Day on Saturday the 24th Feb.
It was a great day supported by many Clubs advertising their projects and services, and was wonderful to be part of such an event promoting the positive work that goes on in the local area.
’Sing a Song of Broadway’
Following their recent smash hit Oliver!’, St Agnes’ Musical Society held a musical evening ‘Sing a Song of Broadway’. There were hits from the shows in a concert performance on May 23rd , Frehills Tavern, Crumlin.
Carlingford Charity Concert
St Agnes Parents String Orchestra conducted by Naoise Dack performed at the FOY CENTRE in Carlingford on Sunday 20th May 2018 in a concert in aid of Carlingford RNLI. Cór Chairlinne conducted by Clodagh O'Gorman joined the orchestra for an arrangement of Vivaldi's GLORIA and also performed a programme accompanied on keyboard by their conductor. Just over €2000 was raised for Carlingford RNLI. Nineteen members of the orchestra will join St Agnes Chamber Orchestra for a short tour to Madrid June 22nd -
Representatives from the CCMA attended celebrations of Dublin’s Cultural activities, and performed for the Lord Mayor.

The St. Agnes’ Parents Orchestra join with the Sounds Ensemble to play a spectacular programme of classical works arranged for full orchestra. Guest artists the St. Agnes’ Chamber Orchestra with Kellie O’Neill soloist in Telleman concerto for viola. All proceeds go the Dublin Simon Community.
Arts and Culture Minister with Muisic Network announce Music Capital scheme at CCMA.
Minister Josepha Madigan says ‘The Music Capital Scheme is a wonderful initiative which has benefitted thousands of people since the scheme was set up in 2008.’ The CCMA have been grateful recipients of support from this grant in the past and were very happy to host the event.
‘Choir of Ages’
New TV series featured members of our local community includng a number of local schools, the Memory Lane choir, members from Fr. Kitt Court and Walkinstown Services. Conductor David Brophy was at the heart of the programme, filmed in part at the CCMA.
The programme aired on Thursdays in November and December 2017.
The choir performed on RTE’s Ray Darcy show on Sat 25th Nov, repeated Sunday 26 at on RTE 1.
President Higgins congratulates Sr Bernadette Sweeney on her Golden Jubilee
‘Amongst her many acts of generosity was the establishment, with Dr. Joanna Crooks of the Music Project in St. Agnes’ School in Crumlin in 2006. During the eleven years since its establishment, the project has introduced hundreds of young people to the joys of music, greatly enriching their lives…..’
The first of a new series of cultural outings hosted by the CCMA saw a trip to Clondalkin Round tower and museum.

On Saturday 12th March an ensemble from St Agnes Chamber Orchestra perfored at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8, at the PLEDGE FOR PARITY AWARDS CEREMONY 2016 when Sister Bernadette Sweeney received an award on behalf of Miriam O'Callaghan of RTE Prime Time, who was be out of the country on that date and asked Sister Bernadette to represent her at the Awards Ceremony. The event is organised by Courage GF Ireland and sponsored by the Nigerian Embassy in Ireland.
